EcoDrying A/S develops biorefining plants, that converts biowaste into green energy

COMPANY PROFILE

EcoDrying A/S started, as the firm recognized the unused potentials of horse manure. They reckoned that the waste could be used as a renewable fuel. The result was the invention of new method for recirculation of manure through biorefining.   

Today the company employs 6 people in total. Despite the young age of the company’s, EcoDrying A/S already export plats to the European market.

PRODUCTS

EcoDrying’s biorefining plant turns waste, such as horse manure into fuels. The fuels either goes directly into a furnace or gets pressed to bio-briquettes, that likewise can be used for heating or sale. The process contains multiple steps. First, the waste is mixed, ensuring that the manure becomes a uniform mass. The uniform mass is then put into a refining tube, where the mass throughout 1-2 hours is refined with temperatures up till 190 degrees Celsius. This removes all bacteria and reduces the water percentage from approximately 50% to 6-10%, making it easier to burn the remaining dry matter. The dry matter then falls into a buffer tank, from which the furnace collects the fuels. If there is any excess dry matter, it’s pushed into a presser, that creates bio-briquettes.
