Farmdroid ApS is a company that develops the automatic agricultural robot Farmdroid FD20.

COMPANY PROFILE

Farmdroid ApS was founded in 2018 by Jens Warming and Kristian Warming in collaboration with the innovation environment Syddansk Innovation A/S and the robot expert Esben Østergaard. The technology behind the Farmdroid robot has been in development since 2011.

PRODUCTS

Farmdroid is powered by solar energy and by using advanced navigation technology, the robot sows each plant seed after which it can keep sugar beets, rapeseed and vegetables fields weed-free without the use of pesticides and manual labour. The robot is tailored to nature and doesn’t damage soil or groundwater. It can be used for sowing and weeding of sugar beets, fodder beets, rapeseed and vegetables.

Farmdroid is an innovative agricultural robot that helps farmers and plant breeders with reducing costs for sowing and weeding of crops with a CO2-neutral approach. It is an autonomous light-weight robot that automatizes sowing and weed-removal on farm land. This means that the soil is cultivated organically, CO2-neutral and without risk of causing structural damages to the soil from heavy equipment.

The Farmdroid robot differentiates from other agricultural robots by having a GPS-system that enables it to weed with centimeter-level accuracy without use of camera.
