MaksiGrass imports and develops a grass mower that collects grass, so it can be served freshly to cows.

COMPANY PROFILE

The company imports and develops a forage wagon from the Irish company, Grass Technology Ltd. The Zero Grazing concept is a widespread Irish/British concept where the cows are taken in stable and supplemented with fresh grass. In Ireland it is known as Zero Grazer, but the Danish brand is called MaksiGrass.

MaksiGrass is a term for a feeding concept and the name of a forage wagon that, efficiently, and gently, can feed large herds with large quantities of grass. MaksiGrass is not only for cows in stable, but also for the organic producers to increase their pasture share and for conventional producers to supplement their whole forage with pasture grass.

PRODUCT

The forage wagon from Grass Technology Ltd. is chosen over other suppliers due to several reasons. Focus is on the optimal, healthy and economical feeding of dairy cows, which is important for the owner of the company, who also runs an organic milk production. The wagon has a strong construction, but also light weight materials where this make sense and a low axle load. Furthermore, the wagon is built for moist fields and wet grass, which is often experienced in Denmark.

The benefits of more grass in the ration are:

  • Possibility of larger forage uptake.

  • Opportunity of a better protein supply.

  • Possibility to cut back on supplemental feed (both quantity and quality)

  • Lower bills for agricultural contractors.

  • Less need for storage space and less money bound in forage stocks.
